Fruticose squash "Melange" (stripy coloured mix).
An original mixture of ornamental patissons. The plants are medium-vine. The fruits come in a variety of shapes and colors. They can be white-cream with radial yellow stripes, white with dark green specks with radial dark green stripes, and white with radial light green stripes. The weight of ripe fruits is up to 1 kg. The pulp is white, dense, and has an excellent taste.
It is used for home cooking and canning. Young fruits are rich in ascorbic acid. It is characterized by high productivity and resistance to downy mildew. Only young, immature ornamental fruits weighing up to 0.5 kg are edible.
Agrotechnics.
Squash grows well on rich, permeable soils. It is recommended to sow seeds in the ground or grow seedlings. It responds well to the application of organic fertilizers and mineral fertilizers.
Sowing: in closed ground: April, in open ground: May - June. Before sowing, the seeds are soaked, washed and dried.
Sowing in open ground or planting 25-35-day-old seedlings when the threat of frost has passed. Seeds germinate at a temperature of +13+14°C.
Planting seedlings: May - June.
Planting pattern: 60x70 cm.
Care: after emergence, care consists of weeding, loosening, watering and fertilizing.
Harvesting: July - September. Marketable yield up to 7 kg / sq.m.
